Internet marketers 'adapting' to cater for women
Monday, 3 November 2008Internet marketing companies are adapting their campaigns in order to improve levels of female customer acquisition, it has been reported.
According to Arizona Woman, the best marketers are aware that they need to take a more sophisticated approach when advertising to women than they did in the past.
Writer Susie Steckner remarked: "There's been a shift in how companies market products to women. They can't just make it pink and give it a pretty name anymore."
Behavior Research Centre chairman Earl de Berge suggested to the publication that traditionally women have been looked on as one broad marketing group, but some companies are now starting to realise that this is not the case.
The internet is one of the key marketing areas where such firms are looking to improve the way they market to women, with an increase in target advertising among the methods being used.
Internet marketing's importance to the modern day work environment was highlighted this week with the announcement that Southern California's Fremont College is to start running courses about the sector as part of its business administration degree.
