Affiliate marketing 'set for further growth'
Wednesday, 28 May 2008Affiliate marketing has witnessed dramatic growth over recent years and is now one of the most profitable forms of advertising, it has been claimed.
In an article written by Meenakshi Wali, it was reported that the affiliate sector has had to evolve "through the ages" and its simple logic of bringing a brand in front of potential customers means it is increasingly made use of by online marketing specialists.
Pointing to a study carried out by E-consultancy, it was revealed that affiliate marketing within the UK was worth some £3.13 billion in 2007.
This represents an increase from the £2.16 billion recorded in 2006.
However, it was reported that affiliate marketing could be set to grow even further.
Rupinder Khurana, co-founder and director of Rupiz Infotcech, said: "I personally believe that the biggest opportunities for growth of affiliate industry in 2009 lie in social networking and fast-moving consumer goods industries."
Speaking at the internet marketing Made Easy Seminar held earlier this year, event organisers reported that with Affiliate marketing being one of the fastest growing advertising platforms in the world businesses should look to take this up as soon as possible.
