Thursday, 23 October 2008A new study has revealed that nearly all IT professionals use online search when looking to buy a particular product or service for their organisations.
Conducted by TechTarget and Google, the research showed that 97 per cent of respondents use search on a regular basis during the buying process, while over two-thirds click on ads belonging to unfamiliar companies.
A further 43 per cent of IT executives also said that they take the time to read search engine marketing ads when looking for relevant products and services.
More than 2,200 IT business and technical decision-makers based in North America, Europe and Asia were polled by TechTarget and Google for the study.
A recent JupiterResearch study for Marin Software suggested 92 per cent of search marketers spending a significant proportion of their budgets on paid search would invest 22 per cent more in the medium if technical issues could be resolved.
