'Boost search rankings with optimised articles'
Monday, 7 July 2008Press releases and articles optimised for search engines can do wonders for boosting rankings, according to one expert.
Online author Christina Newberry noted that making such content more readable by the likes of Google and Yahoo! through search engine optimisation (SEO) can do much to get websites listed near the top of search results pages.
However, the content of these articles and press releases must also be engaging enough to compel readers to click through to the main website, Ms Newberry noted, going on to add that the content must be "convincing" and written to high standards.
"You need to build your credibility and make the reader want to learn more to get that critical click-through," she commented.
According to Ann Smarty of Search Engine Journal, businesses can also make their websites more SEO-friendly by making sure URLs are no longer than five words and using dashes instead of underscores.
