US online lead generation bringing higher revenues
Wednesday, 8 October 2008New figures have revealed that internet advertising revenues in the US rose by 15.2 per cent in the first half of 2008, with online lead generation being one of the segments that also saw an increase.
According to statistics from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PricewaterhouseCoopers, total internet advertising revenues reached $11.5 billion (£6.5 billion) in the first six months of the year.
Online lead generation and referrals saw a seven per cent increase in revenues to $806 million, while search enjoyed a 44 per cent rise and display benefited from a 33 per cent boost in sales.
"Interactive advertising continues to demonstrate year-over-year growth as marketers and consumers increase their embrace of digital media," commented Randall Rothenberg, president and chief executive of the IAB.
Yesterday (October 7th), the Internet Advertising Bureau released statistics showing that online ad spend in the UK soared by 21 per cent in the first half of the year.
