New product launches 'could benefit from email marketing'
Thursday, 11 September 2008Retailers launching new products could see significant rewards in utilising email marketing as a promotional channel for these offerings, new research has suggested.
Undertaken by Unilever, eCircle and GfK, the poll of 2,318 women indicated that brand awareness can rise by up to nine per cent if email marketing strategies are implemented ahead of the launch of a new product.
Half of the consumers who saw an email advertising a new Knorr product earlier this said they could remember the advertising for this particular item.
It also suggested that the intention to purchase the new product on a forthcoming shopping trip doubled as a result of email marketing.
"The results show that email marketing is ideally suited for brand advertising and awareness," commented Knorr brand manager Susanne Kuechlin, according to Precision Marketing.
"Especially for a product launch email is a meaningful component of the media mix that draws customers directly into the shops."
E-consultancy recently released a report suggesting that the British market for email marketing services and platforms will expand by 24 per cent this year.
