Expert offers email marketing tips
Tuesday, 18 November 2008There are two areas for email marketers to improve upon for the last quarter of 2008 and early 2009, a blogger has suggested.
Writing for the Email Experience Council, Stephanie Miller of Return Path asserted that marketers may wish to improve the relevancy of their email campaigns by adding "messages that feel more custom" into their content.
These could include thanking consumers who made a purchase in the past quarter, hosting a poll, or encouraging all the people who purchased one type of product to consider buying a related product.
Furthermore, she added that helping subscribers find ways to network with one another is also a good way to make content more relevant.
Lastly, Ms Miller suggested that those in the email marketing sector may wish to consult with a deliverability expert or members of their IT team to assess their sender reputation and how frequently marketing emails reach their intended recipients.
This weekend, the Retail Email Blog's Retail Email Index revealed that during the week ending November 14th, the top 100 retailers in the US sent an average of 2.5 promotional emails.
