Another fish!
posted by ian b. on 15/10/2008 Personally, I was never that into fish. Sure, when I was a kid we had the ubiquitous goldfish won at the local fete. With one notable exception, imaginatively called 'Jaws', they invariably died a short time later. Well here at Digital Response we seem to have taken to fish in a big way. The original goldfish tank has now been replaced with a new larger one and is now home to 8 fish. The latest arrival is a bit more exotic as Maric is now the proud owner of 'Lulz' the piranha (see pic). Doesn't look that vicious yet but it is growing at an alarming rate. As if that wasn't enough the design department is eagerly awaiting the arrival of two puffer fish later this week!

Khortytsa Platinum. Around £1
Since I've been away in Ukraine it seems more appropriate to have a vodka of the month. It's probably worth noting that vodka in Ukraine is cheaper than water in England.
Information:
Khortytsa Distillery is the largest manufacturer of the distilled beverages in Ukraine. It has been operating since 2003, and its current turnover comprises USD 1.5 million a month.
Tasting notes:
Smell: Pure alcohol, slight hint-reminiscent of citrus
Taste: Alcohol,
Smooth, slightly peppery, some citrus flavors with a nice slight-citrus-bitterness which lingers,
pleasant. The burn comes after you have drank the vodka
and it is pleasant as well...
All in all a
pleasant extremely smooth vodka which can be drank straight/neat & chilled.

posted by ian b. on 08/08/2008 OK so we've had snakes and fish but our MD seriously raised the cute bar when his new puppy came in to say hello. Sadly she isn't house trained yet so it was a flying visit this time (without any presents left behind). We're still trying to put a job description together for her but it will definitely include making people smile.
